Uptown Comprehensive Dentistry and Prosthodontics
A Great Dentist

Technology

It’s great to live in a time where dental technology continues to make impressive strides!

At Uptown Comprehensive Dentistry and Prosthodontics, we are happy to include cutting-edge technology in our practice to keep our patients more comfortable while we keep them healthy

Digital Radiographs and Panoramic X-Rays

Dentists have been taking x-rays of patients’ mouths for years. But with digital radiographs, x-rays can be taken quicker than ever before with the benefit of additional safety, given that they have considerably less radiation than traditional dental x-rays.

Enhancement of images is easy, so when Dr. Chen wants to see more detail, he can do so right away. Digital x-rays are also easy to email to specialists and insurance companies, which often means less waiting for recommended treatment.

A useful addition to the traditional dental x-ray, a panoramic x-ray makes one flat image of your entire mouth, ensuring a comprehensive view of your entire mouth. This enables Dr. Chen to see everything, including all your teeth, the upper and lower jaws, the temporomandibular (TMJ) joints, and even your nasal area and sinuses.  Because the image is flat rather than curved, it gives your dentist a different perspective, making it easier to analyze each part.

Technology to Make Your Visit More Pleasant

It’s a universal truth that some people are simply anxious about visiting the dentist. We know this, and because of it, we have worked to ensure that our office is inviting. In addition, we are pleased to offer our patients the following comforts and conveniences:

  • Nitrous oxide to calm dental anxiety and make any treatment more comfortable
  • Quieter electric hand pieces so you won’t hear the typical dentist office sounds

Going to the dentist does not have to be an unpleasant experience. With high-tech dentistry, welcoming comforts, and a compassionate staff, your next visit to the dentist can be an enjoyable one.

Call us today! We look forward to meeting you and your entire family.

Intraoral Camera

Digital radiographs are great, but intraoral cameras take that greatness and make it even better.

About the same size as a dental mirror, these compact cameras enable your dentist to see in places that were previously well hidden. Now the smallest fractures in teeth and cavities in their earliest stages can be seen before they progress into bigger problems.

This remarkable piece of equipment also spots plaque deposits, excessive wear on the teeth, and fillings that are becoming worn.
